What causes DLL Errors?
May0
When many users encounter DLL errors their first thoughts (after data recovery), and often what caused this DLL error? And also how can I remedy the problem and prevent this from happening again?
There are multiple ways that DLL errors occur, some via malicious attack while some are simply innocent user mistakes that have inadvertently deletes of overwritten essential files.
In general 99% of all DLL errors are caused by one of the following cases:
- Unistalling a program, whereby the process has inadvertently deleted a necessary DLL file. In many cases simply re-installing the program can solve your DLL issues.
- Spyware, Malware, Viruses and other internet nasties can infect your computer and corrupt or even delete essential DLL files. To prevent these type of issues occurring you will want to regularly run anti-virus and Spyware detection tools and software.
- Dying Hard Drives. When you hard drive is beginning to fail, you can often encounter corrupted DLLs.
- Program failed to complete Install. - If you were installing software and for some reason the program did not complete installation you can often be left with missing DLLs or DLL files may have become corrupt.
- Incompatible DLL files. Often during software installation DLL files are overwritten by the newly installed program. This can unfortunately often lead to incompatibility between the new and old DLL files.
- Someone has inadvertently deleted a neccesary DLL file. Check your Recycle Bin! Else you may need to run a Dll Scanner and restoration tool such as Regcure.
